Dazzle's Painted Pastures Rescue & Sanctuary; a not for profit animal welfare organization located in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. As a no kill shelter and sanctuary, our mission is to rescue and offer care and rehabilitation for neglected , abandoned, or unwanted companion, farm, and exotic animals. Through proper medical care, socialization and love, many of these animals will find a loving home through our adoption program. Some animals, due to medical or behavioral problems, cannot be placed and will live out their lives in the sanctuary. Our mission also includes public outreach programs, designed to educate the public about the importance of spaying and neutering, and the humane treatment of these wonderful creatures. |
| Painted Pastures Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, a non-profit animal welfare organization is located in Chicago’s Southwest Suburbs. Established in 2006 as a no-kill shelter and sanctuary, our mission has been to rescue, provide care and rehabilitate neglected, abandoned or unwanted companion, farm and exotic animals. Through proper medical care, socialization, and love many of these animals find a home through our adoption program. Others remain in our care at the sanctuary for the rest of their lives. The development of our expanded community outreach programs distinguishes our rescue as the only one of its kind in the entire United States. Since 2006 we have been leasing 3 acres of farmland to provide loving care to all animals in need. In addition to the usual dogs and cats, the rescue also accepts horses, miniature horses, donkeys, llamas, goats, pigs, sheep, ferrets, rabbits, birds and fish; for a while we even had a zonkey, a donkey/zebra mix. Now, in our fourth year, we have reached the property's space limit. But there is still so much more room in our hearts. In order to continue our dedication to these wonderful four-legged creatures without turning away any animal in need, we must raise funds to acquire more property for our one-of-a-kind facility. At this new facility we would not only house these creatures, but we would also provide programs designed to further benefit the animals as well as our community by promoting interaction between the two. Our most passionate pursuit is to provide care for pets of deployed military personnel for their entire tour of duty. We would house them in a home environment to minimize their anxiety while keeping them ready to return to their ‘real’ home. |
